The story of LGB Properties started innocently enough back in 1999. Larry had
just retired from his time as a Superintendent of Schools and was beginning his
educational consulting business. He decided a home-based business wasn't
for him and decided buying a building in the Borough of Kennett Square was the
way to go. After a long and eventful search, Larry & Irene bought the property
located at 116 South Broad St in downtown Kennett Square. Always the
handyman, Larry ran his consulting business during the day and began
renovating the building on nights and weekends. Larry's office was in one suite
and he leased out the remaining building as apartments and offices. By 2001,
Geoff had graduated from college and the building next door to the office at 120
South Broad St became available for purchase. Given that it was next door and
the experience at 116 South Broad St was going well, Larry decided to purchase
the 120 South Broad St property as well.
Geoff became interested in the real estate industry as time went along and
decided to buy an investment property for himself in 2002. Larry continued to
purchase a few more properties while running his consulting business which
was proving to be successful but also hectic. Both Larry & Irene were tiring of a
schedule that required him to be traveling more than at home, in 2005 Larry &
Geoff decided to dedicate their life's work to the real estate business. LGB
Properties was formed! Geoff worked nights and weekends in building the
business until he joined Larry on a full time basis in 2008.

LGB Properties views its mission as improving the community's quality and
municipalities' economic viability through the commercial and residential real
estate market. By offering high quality, well-maintained properties at a fair value,
tenants or customers will be pleased with their product and want to build
long-term relationships. LGB Properties' goal is to become the premiere real
estate investing company in the Southern Chester County area. The LGB
Properties name will be synonymous with quality, attention to detail, and first
class service. Commercial tenants will be more productive and have the ability
to offer their customers a higher quality product or service based upon their
leased space. We also feel a civic responsibility to improve the municipalities'
economic basis. This will be done by upgrading the communities' services and
consumer options while having a positive impact on both the tax basis and
economic viability within towns. LGB Properties looks for projects that will help
create jobs and stimulate the local economy.
Larry Bosley, Founder, President, and CEO
Larry brings a very decorated and diverse background to his role as President
and CEO of LGB Properties. In his "first" career, Larry spent 35 years in public
education; briefly as a teacher before spending 10 years as principal of
Woodrow Wilson High School in Bucks County before moving his family to
Kennett Square where he spent the last 20 years of his career, mostly as
Superintendent of Schools for the Kennett Consolidated School District. Along
with running the school district, one of Larry's main duties was to oversee the
buildings and grounds of the school. He lead the expansion and renovation of
three schools and learned the subdivision and land development process of
local municipalities in the meantime.
After retirement from the school district, Larry spent five years performing
educational consulting and selling of educational software. In 2005, upon his
desire to spend less time traveling and more time at home, Larry focused on
growing a young, fledgling LGB Properties. He holds a Bachelor of Science
Degree from Edinboro University, where he was also quarterback of the football
team. He holds post graduate degrees in education from Temple University
(Master's) and Rutgers University (Doctorate).
Currently Larry serves on the Board of Directors at the Episcopal Church of the
Advent in Kennett Square along with the Board of Directors with Historic Kennett
Square. Previously Larry was past president of the local Rotary Club and United
Way. He is a past Board of Director member of Chester County 2020, and was
very active in both KAU Little League Baseball along with the Kennett American
Legion Baseball Team. He was a part of the 1st Kennett Square Revitalization
Board in the early 1980's along with many other community organizations. Larry,
along with fellow Kennett Square Resident, Mike Walker, are spearheading a
campaign for the "Kennett Square Gateway Project." This non-profit project will
provide a beautiful entrance along State St and will include an expanded YMCA,
a new Library, along with an improved Anson B. Nixon Park. Larry and his wife
Irene have been Kennett Square residents for over 30 years. In his spare time
Larry enjoys spending time with his family, home improvement projects,
traveling, and watching sports.
